Sweet Potato

The girl has done it. She's eating solids now in her little highchair. She literally divebombs the spoon full of sweet potato and gets it all over her lip. She also favors oatmeal over rice cereal.

I know nobody will believe me when I say we've been sick for the past couple of weeks again. We all got colds so I'm thinking that we may try to legally change our last name from Saipetch to Snotpet. We had to pick her up from school early because she wasn't her "normal" self for the fourth day. However, the doctor checked her out and she's perfectly normal except for a cold. I swear everytime we go to see the doctor with some concern he says she's doing perfect and is normal. I'm beginning to think she's got some fishy dealings with the doctor and insurance company.

Mallory met my dad and stepmom for the first time this weekend. She's been having this "stranger anxiety" thing where she cries when there is someone she doesn't recognize or hasn't seen in over a week or two. Initially she did the same thing to grandpa and grandma but the next morning she woke up refreshed and got used to grandpa. He just wouldn't put her down, they had so much fun together.

Since she's sitting up well now he would hold her musical keyboard while she tried to press on the keys. When she got bored he would pick her up and walk her around the house. This is how asian people are with their children, they barely let them hit the ground. Some might say they spoil their kids and grandkids but I don't think so. It's an interesting paradigm in raising children.
